Alright! The first ever update to Depthis, The Spawn Update has now been released! This update includes a lot of cool new things to play around with and a new very important structure known as the Facility, or, at least one room of it. Keep reading for a more in depth explanation of what was brought to the game.

Ok, ok, we know, the menu looks really messed up. The menu didn't look too bad in the game engine, but for some reason when the game got compiled all of the buttons and text went all over the place. At least it works! This will probably be fixed in the next update. Play will send you to the game level, options currently does nothing and exit will stop the executive from running.Gameplay Ok, now it's time for the big news! Say hello to the newest addition to the game: the first room of The Facility . So, the Facility is essentially your spawnpoint. You are an old underwater exploration robot model that has been left and forgotten in The Facility. The first room is all about learning the controls: how to move around and pick up objects, which are the two main ways the player can interact with the world. Here is a list of things you can find in the first room of the Facility.Crates Crates are an interactable object in the game that you can pick up, drop and ram into. They currently serve no other purpose.Girders Girders are an interactable object that you can move by ramming into them. They are too heavy to be lifted by the player.Stemstalks Stemstalks are an underwater plant that prominently grows within the world of Depthis. They currently have no purpose.Facility platform and slope A platform for lifting and sliding things onto. After the player has spent some time wandering around the facility they will look out of the window and soon realize that there is an outside world to explore, but they can't get out. This is where the puzzle of the first room comes into play.Solving the puzzle While playing around in The Facility, the player will probably have come across this contraption. This is known as the Power Source Chamber. On the screen you can see an image of two objects, the first one being the Blue Power Source and the second one being the exit door. The image is a little counter-intuitive as of right now, but what it's meant to imply is that putting the BPS into the chamber will then open the door so the player can leave the first room. The image will be changed in a future update. So, the player has to scavenge the room and find the power source. Once the power source is inserted into the machine the door will open.The Blue Power Source The door Insert it into the machine... ...and you are free! After escaping the first room After you have escaped the second room you are then granted complete freedom to the outside world. Outside, not much has changed since the last version of the game, except for the biome next to The Facility, there are a couple smaller changes there, notably the fact that you can now pick up metal resources, the Stemstalk model has been updated and crates now generate as a naturally spawning resource. Apart from that, that completely wraps up the update! Thanks for reading our first devlog, it has been really fun developing Depthis so far. A couple of small bumps were met on the way, but we got there eventually.
